Gaza ceasefire in danger, Cuba denounces

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez today denounced Israel‘s continuous bombardment of the Gaza Strip, the murder of the Palestinian population and the denial of humanitarian aid during Ramadan.

Rodriguez pointed out on his X account that such actions jeopardize the ceasefire in Gaza and detailed that the Israeli attacks have the full support of the U.S. government, from which they will receive four billion dollars in new weapons.
The day before, Gaza health authorities reported that the Israeli military killed 116 Palestinians during the ceasefire and wounded 490 others.

Tension grew in the last few hours after the truce ended at midnight on Saturday, while Israel threatens to restart attacks after closing all border crossings that would allow humanitarian aid to enter the enclave on Sunday.

According to United Nations estimates, the reconstruction of Gaza will cost more than $53 billion due to the severe damage caused by the aggression.
The current Israeli offensive against Gaza has been the deadliest in the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, far surpassing those killed during the first and second intifada.

According to data from the Gaza Ministry of Health, as of January 15, at least more than 46,700 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since October 7, 2023, including more than 18,000 children, while more than 10,000 bodies remain under the rubble of the war.
