They raise more than 16 million euros with the sale of humidors

The traditional auction of humidors associated with the XXV Habanos Festival raised 16 million 410 thousand euros, whose destination will be the Cuban Public Health system, it was known this Saturday.

The bidding took place at the Pabexpo fairgrounds in Havana, during the Gala Dinner that closes the Festival, which was attended by President Miguel Díaz-Canel, and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, reported the Cuban News Agency.

Considered one of the most important moments of each Festival, the contest was organized by the Habanos S.A. Corporation and is a sign of generosity and humanity of the lovers of the best tobacco in the world, the Habano.

The seven humidors auctioned represented each of the global brands of the joint venture Habanos S.A., Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, Partagás, Hoyo de Monterrey and H. Upmann, and particularly the commemorative of the fifteenth anniversary of the Behike Line, the most prestigious in the world, sold at a price of 4.6 million euros.

Each of the humidors in the bid was a unique piece created with maximum dedication by the best artisans and designed to protect the most emblematic vitolas of Habanos S.A.
At the opening conference of the Festival, the group’s commercial vice president, Jorge Pérez, reported that the Corporation achieved a record revenue growth of 827 million dollars, 16 percent higher than 2023.

He explained that 2024 closed with 4,705 specialized points of sale in the world, of which 21 Cohiba Atmosphere, 168 Casas del Habanos, 602 Habanos Terras, 1,321 Habanos Especialistas and 2,600 Habanos.

The event just concluded last night was attended by more than 160 journalists, while 90 exhibitors from 10 countries participated in the Trade Fair.
