The city of Holguin will host the Expoambiente 2024 scientific event on November 28 and 29, an event which points at socializing the achievements in environmental protection based on community experiences developed in eastern Cuba.
Norkis Ochoa Aguilera, a specialist from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (Citma) and a member of the organizing committee, told the CNA that the event is aimed at promoting a scientific and practical exchange between companies and entities.
She said that this edition, to be held at the Expo Holguin Fairgrounds, will feature three symposiums dedicated to the management of natural resources, business and urban, and sustainable development, among the priorities in the country until 2030.
The expert informed that as part of the program, an exhibition area will be organized for the presentation of products and technologies related to the safeguarding of nature, the protection of the environment, as well as projects and experiences with significant impact on the economic and social sphere of the territory.
One of the main objectives of this scientific event is also a group of collateral activities involving elementary school students, among them participation contests, the sale of ornamental plants and the presentation of interest circles.
The event also includes a series of lectures on the laws in force on this subject, under the theme “The Law of the Natural Resources and Environment System: Holguin’s entrepreneurial, state and citizen responsibilities”, she emphasized.
Expoambiente will be attended by specialists, engineers, community actors with experience in the use of science and technological innovation for environmental protection and sustainable development.
