Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC) and president of the Republic, presided over an Extraordinary Plenary Session of the Provincial Committee of the highest political organization, at Celia Sanchez Manduley Theater in the northeastern province of Holguín.agriculture
Among the main objectives of the party meeting, stand out the evaluation of the treatment given to the recommendations of the visits carried out this year to six municipalities; as well as the work to correct distortions and to revitalize the economy, amidst the complex national and international situation the country is going through.
At the meeting, Humberto Camilo Hernández Suárez, member of the Central Committee and Head of its Department of Cadre Policy, explained that these meetings seek reflection on the work carried out to advance the results of this territory in accordance with the objectives of these party meetings.
The rigorous report by Joel Queipo Ruiz, first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party, presented updated information on the internal life of the political organization, the state of party militancy, work on social networks, cadre policy and the progress of the process of accountability of the delegate to his voters.
The leader also detailed the main economic indicators of the territory, among which he emphasized the difficulties that the province faces in the process of banking and the discrete advances in food production, based on the agricultural sector program implemented by the territory.
In the analysis, Queipo Ruiz explained what has been done and how much is still missing to achieve results based on the priorities set by the country’s top leadership.
The first secretary of the Municipal Committee of the PCC in Holguín, Osmani Viñals García, referred to the state of the militancy, the functioning and internal life of the organization, it is about finding solutions so that the Party grows and it is up to the cadres to guarantee the quality and strength of the ranks.
For her part, Nuris Daylín González Pereda, first secretary of the CM-PCC in Cacocum, one of the municipalities visited this year, said that based on the reports, actions were outlined to transform the detected difficulties.
“Work methods and styles were changed, we have complied with 74 percent of these actions, but we have to say that of the main issues that have been pointed out to us today, the territory has to continue focusing its efforts on direct connection with the base, the issue of growth of the Party.”
Governor Manuel Francisco Hernández Aguilera highlighted the importance of the government’s work to implement the priorities that the party has defined for this stage.
“An expression of this has to be doing daily what corresponds to us, the government cadres, we have to continue perfecting our work in the political and ideological order. May good practices accompany us,” he stressed.
President Diaz-Canel was interested in the results of the arrangement of the relationship between the state sector and the non-state sector, the comprehensive price and fiscal inspections, aspects that in the province the results are not satisfactory.
In this sense, the work system of the province in the last stages has allowed identifying improvements in some indicators, but that are still far from what is wanted to achieve, especially in terms of tax evasion.
The First Secretary of the CC PCC recognized the will with which work is being done in the territory to rescue the concept of the production detachment “Division Mambisa” and that it becomes a driving force for the development of the production poles of the province and with that support the law of food sovereignty.
He urged to work more in detail on the contracting of the year 2025 and to comply with the sowing campaigns in the next stage.
“We have made it possible for these to be plenary sessions where the will to transform is expressed, to expand and consolidate the discrete results that are already being had in the macroeconomic order with all the confrontations with a group of distortions and that allows us to continue advancing and with that to strengthen a concept that we expressed in the closing of the national assembly of popular power when we recognized that the moment was difficult, but not insurmountable,” insisted Díaz-Canel.
The Extraordinary Plenary Session of the Provincial Committee of the PCC in Holguín, allowed to assess strategic issues for the territory and above all to emphasize the difficulties to work on them, with the motivations of obtaining the venues for the central celebrations of next July 26 and the Centenary of the birth of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz.
