Youths in Cueto to celebrate the birthday of Fidel Castro

Nearly 300 young people from eastern Cuba arrived in Biran, municipality of Cueto, to take part in the national encampment (August 12), International Youth Day, and to August 12, International Youth Day and to celebrate the 98th birthday of Fidel Castro.

In a surprise stop, upon arriving at the municipality of Cueto, they were received by William Cruz Gómez, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the territory, who welcomed them to the land of the childhood years of Fidel and Raúl Castro.

On Monday afternoon the young people participated in a production work and in the evening they camped in the area of Sabanilla, very close to the historical site of Biran, where on August 13, 1926, the historic leader of the Cuban, Fidel Castro Ruz, was born.

A representation of members of the Young Communist League (UJC), the Federation of University Students (FEU), the Federation of High School Students (FEEM), from the entrepreneurial system of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), and the Ministry of the Interior (Minint), paid tribute to the Commander in Chief on the eve of his 98th birthday.

During the emotional reception, the young people expressed their commitment with Fidel’s legacy to continue building a Revolution by and for the humble.

On the morning of Tuesday, August 13, at the historical site of Biran, an event was held to pay tribute to Fidel and to recognize those who have stood out during the year in the work of youth and student organizations.
