Condor adds new aircraft to operations in Holguín

Condor airline incorporated a state-of-the-art A330-900 NEO aircraft into its regular operations at the Frank País García International Airport in Holguín to consolidate Germany as one of the main sources of tourists to this province.

With 281 passengers on board from Frankfurt, the Airbus arrived at the Holguin airfield this Sunday, identified with the company’s current corporate livery, which from now on will take over flights to the northeastern territory.

Ramón Krauthausen, captain of the plane, told ACN that it is his first trip to the region with this airline although he has already flown to Cuba several times in his 30 years of profession, a sign of the ties that unite both countries.

Ricardo Rojas Mastrapa, director of the Cubatur Travel Agency in the province, explained that operations with the German market have been increasing, since currently there are two fixed weekly frequencies throughout the year to this airport, on Wednesdays and Sundays, and from now on it will do so with a larger and larger aircraft.

The new plane, which from now on will cover the route, demonstrates the growth of Holguín as a receiving destination for travelers from that nation, the first in Europe in terms of influx of tourists to the territory and also demonstrates the high level of satisfaction in the resorts located on the northeastern coast of Cuba, he stated.

Alexis González Arias, head of Ground Operations at the airport terminal, reported that of the 65 weekly flights during the current winter tourist season, the European nation stands out as one of the countries that executes the most actions and that now, with the incorporation of The new ship increases the number of possible passengers compared to the previous one.

Condor airline has been flying to the Cuban archipelago uninterruptedly since 1990, when it inaugurated its first route Frankfurt-Camagüey-Havana, and through Holguín for more than 10 years, where it strives to improve the quality of its services and remain as an aviation benchmark at this airport.
