The Holguin Fire Department carried out a swift and precise rescue operation in the Emilio Bárcena neighborhood. Where a woman was rescued alive after accidentally falling into the well at her home.
The emergency—occurring at a depth of over five meters—immediately mobilized rescue teams. Their deployment prevented a tragedy and allowed the victim to be brought to the surface safely for subsequent medical evaluation.
Also the alert sent specialists to the affected home, where the site’s characteristics presented significant technical challenges. The narrowness of the structure, the lack of natural light at that depth, and the confined space required a cautious approach to avoid endangering the victim’s safety. Rescuers assessed the stability of the shaft and set up the descent equipment required for such high-risk scenarios.

During the operation, a rescuer descended to the bottom of the well using specialized rescue techniques. Once in contact with the woman, the team worked to calm her. Check her general physical condition, and fit her with the necessary safety harnesses for confined-space maneuvering. Coordination between the surface team and the specialist inside ensured a smooth and steady extraction.
Moreover the successful operation allowed the victim to be brought out without further complications and handed over to medical personnel waiting outside. Such interventions demonstrate the rescue teams’ ongoing technical readiness for domestic emergencies in the region. Also where a prompt community response and firefighter expertise proved crucial in saving a life.
