Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez noted on Thursday that only 17 percent of Americans support the use of military force to—supposedly—take control of Cuba.
“This is evidence of the majority opposition among U.S. citizens to that government’s aggressive policy against the Cuban people. Also their perception that Cuba is not a threat to them,” the Foreign Minister wrote on the social network X.
In this context, he recalled the pretext chosen by U.S. Senator Marco Rubio. Claiming Cuba is a threat to Washington, to devise and justify aggression against the island.
The data cited by Rodríguez came from a survey based on polling conducted jointly in August by *The Economist* and YouGov in the United States.
According to the study, 58 percent of Americans surveyed reject taking Cuba by force.
