
With a large turnout, the two-person exhibition “Moros y Cristianos” (Moors and Christians)—featuring renowned visual artists José Emilio Leyva Azze and Rosa Leticia Leyva Azze. Opened in the Small Gallery of the Holguin Provincial Center for Visual Arts.
The exhibition, part of the “Ancestors” project led by artist and professor José Leonardo Aguilar Álvarez. It offers a journey through the careers of both creators. It showcases works that engage in a profound dialogue with essential themes. Such as identity, family, faith, and national symbolism.
Also the opening was attended by various artists and a large group of students and faculty from the “El ALBA” Regional Academy of Visual Arts in Holguin.
The academic institution highlighted on social media its pride in having Professor José Emilio Leyva Azze on its faculty. Noting that his artistic and teaching work enhances the center’s prestige.
Furthermore the opening event featured musical performances by Yamilka Garcell Revé and Carlos Camilo de la Pena Toranzo. Also who delighted the audience with a repertoire comprising works by Marta Valdés and other prominent Cuban composers.
For those unable to attend the opening, organizers announced that the Leyva Azze siblings’ exhibition will remain open to the public for the next two months at the Provincial Center for Visual Arts. Located at Martí 180 (at the corner of Martínes Street) in Holguin.
