Army General Raúl Castro recognized and thanked the Personal Security Directorate. For its heroic work over its 65 years in protecting the leaders of the Revolution.

Regarding these heroes, he affirmed that they fell in the line of duty and emphasized: “May the blood they shed never be forgotten. And may their example become the guide to follow in the daily work of this leadership.”
He also stated that on the centenary of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, they should receive his congratulations and his most sincere gratitude. For their work from the beginning of the Revolution and even before. When the struggle was just beginning in the Sierra Maestra mountains.
Furthermore he recalled that they contributed “decisively to preventing enemy actions against our historic leader, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro.”

During the ceremony held the previous day, the Army General received an award from Brigadier General Emir Mesa Corona, head of the Personal Security Directorate. For his role as a founding head, along with Fidel, of that branch of the Ministry of the Interior, Cubadebate reported.
For his part, Álvarez Casas presented a diploma to the Personal Security Directorate for its 65 years of continuous work. Dedicated to protecting the lives of the top leaders of the Cuban Revolution.
