The United States has bombed Iran again this Tuesday. US Central Command confirmed that it began attacking Iranian Revolutionary Guard targets. Arguing that the strikes are being carried out “following recent attempted attacks by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Against merchant ships in the Strait of Hormuz and against US service members deployed in the region.”
The new US attacks come shortly after the bombing of the Iranian island of Larak, located in the Strait of Hormuz, on Sunday night. These attacks marked Washington’s first offensive against Iranian territory since the end of July.
Also the objective of the US attack was to prevent the placement of new mines in the Strait of Hormuz. Just as Iran is attempting to partially reopen the maritime passage.
The Speaker of Parliament and chief Iranian negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf. He stated that if the United States intensifies its maritime blockade of Iranian ships and ports, Iran will respond militarily.
A few hours later, the Revolutionary Guard announced the launch of drones and missiles against the U.S. bases Al Hussein and Al Azraq, located in Jordan. Resulting in damage to “technical and repair infrastructure, as well as enemy aircraft deployment facilities.”
