Diversifying wine production by utilizing local fruits and other resources is the main strategy of the family-run VC Ivette winery in the city of Holguin.
Ivette Valentina Pupo Pupo, the brand’s owner, explained to the Cuban News Agency that the variety responds to customer demand. And to the diversity of tastes in terms of flavor and type of beverage.
Among the most popular wines are white, rosé, and red wines. Classified as dry, semi-dry, sweet, and semi-sweet. Along with sparkling wines, one of the winery’s main lines and the most complex in its fermentation process.
She explained that during production, new product lines emerge. Such as vinegar, made from batches with increased acidity. This alternative allows them to take advantage of the fermentation process and reduce losses.
The entrepreneur highlighted that the product line is complemented by spirits and liqueurs obtained through distillation. Both derived from the natural wine cycle.
She noted that the diversification strategy also includes handcrafted bottle displays and other items related to product presentation.
The VC Ivette winery was founded in 2005, initially focused on family consumption. It has grown from small bottles to 1,000-liter tanks. Gradually expanding its capacity and the variety of products it offers in the local market.
