The participation of the University of Holguin (UHo) marked the beginning of the II International Congress of Scientific Research of the Open University for Adults (UAPA), held in the Dominican Republic. This event focused on the internationalization of higher education as a means to enhance academic quality.
The opening address was given by Dr. Jenny Ruiz, Director of International Relations at UHo. Who shared the Cuban institution’s experience in developing international academic and scientific cooperation strategies.
During her presentation, Dr. Ruiz emphasized the role of internationalization. As a comprehensive process that goes beyond student and academic mobility. Incorporating global perspectives into professional training, research, and community engagement. She also highlighted the actions undertaken by the University of Holguin to strengthen strategic alliances with higher education institutions in various regions.
