The iconic Soviet cartoon character Leopold the Cat will return to the big screen. In a feature film starring actors and set in the present day, Prensa Latina knew this Tuesday.
Filming will begin next fall. The film will be a co-production between Welcome Media studios in Russia and Kinotsekh studios in Belarus.
The film will be directed by Vladislav Bogush. Known for his work on “The Village Grandfather,” and the plot will be based on stories by Anatoli Reznikov.
According to studio representatives, most of the roles in the new adaptation of the feature film, titled “Leopold the Cat Is Back.” It will be played by actors, but their names are still being kept secret.
Producer Andrei Lipov emphasized the creators’ intention to preserve the kindness and wisdom of the original story. He stated that they plan to offer viewers a grand and spectacular fairy tale for the whole family.
Another producer, Maxim Maksimov, added that the film’s central theme will be the ability to find common ground in any situation.
