In commemoration of the anniversary of the Playa Giron victory. The Calixto García Park, a symbol of the main popular gatherings in the province, was the site this Sunday of the launch in Holguin. Of the “My Signature for the Homeland” process. A nationwide initiative that calls on the Cuban people to reaffirm their commitment to sovereignty, independence, and the continuity of the Revolution.
The choice of the date, marked by one of the most significant milestones in the country’s history. Gave the day special meaning, evoking the steadfastness and unity of the Cuban people in the face of external aggression.
From early morning, the central park welcomed young people, students, workers, and representatives of political and mass organizations. Also who came to support with their signatures a call that places citizen participation. Especially that of the new generations, at the forefront.
The day was marked by enthusiasm, active participation, and a strong sense of belonging. In a context that reaffirms unity as an essential pillar in the face of current challenges.
Spaces were set up at the event for collecting signatures. Accompanied by discussions about the importance of the process and its significance for the present and future of the country.

Among the participants, Elaine Cruz Cobas, a young woman from the Ministry of Public Health. Highlighted the value of the initiative as an expression of individual and collective commitment.
“Signing for the Homeland is also about defending our present and the future we want to build. From every space where we contribute to the country. For those of us who work in the health sector. It also means caring for life, maintaining services, and remaining faithful to the humanist principles that distinguish our system,” she stated.
She also emphasized that these types of actions reinforce the role of youth in the country’s social processes. “It’s a way of saying that we are here, committed, aware of the challenges. And ready to assume responsibilities in building a better society.”
Local authorities present at the event noted that this process transcends the symbolic act of signing. Constituting an exercise in conscious participation that strengthens national identity and civic responsibility.
