As part of its program of activities in the eastern province of Holguin, the “Calixto García Íñiguez” Solidarity Brigade exchanged experiences with students from the Rudiberto Cuadrado Velázquez Semi-Boarding School. Belonging to the “Hermanos Aguilera” Military Community in the provincial capital.
During the moving encounter, dances, songs, and performances took place. An eloquent demonstration of the rich cultural heritage instilled in Cuba from a very young age.
The brigade members, from Canada, also learned about the various educational and training activities carried out at the school. Gaining a deeper understanding of the Cuban educational model that combines academic study with training in patriotic and civic values.

As the culmination of a day of friendship, a royal palm, Cuba’s national tree, was planted as a lasting symbol of the bonds of brotherhood between the two nations.
Futhermore the brigade, founded in 2018 but with origins dating back many years. Aims to learn about the history, culture, and traditions of the eastern region of the Caribbean island.
This is achieved through visits to educational and health centers, cultural institutions, historical sites, and museums. In this way, it continues to build bridges of solidarity and cooperation that unite the people.
