Food industry projections for summer reviewed in Holguin

With summer just around the corner, the governor of Holguin province, Manuel Francisco Hernández Aguilera. Toured several states to review food industry projections. Aiming to ensure a stable supply during the months of peak demand.

One of the first centers visited was the Holguin Dairy Products Company, where Hernández Aguilera spoke with workers and managers about the measures adopted to increase product availability.

Camilo Fuentes Zapata, the company’s commercial director, stated that they have strengthened their production lines with concrete commitments: 20,000 gallons of ice cream and 27 tons of cheese per month, with priority given to mass activities at the Mayor General Calixto García Stadium, playgrounds, and other recreational spaces.

In addition, four bags of yogurt will be distributed monthly to pregnant women and a special allocation will be given to vulnerable children ages 0 to 15. “We have all the necessary resources, from raw materials to packaging. So there is a complete guarantee of compliance,” Fuentes Zapata stated.

Later, the delegation visited the UEB Soft Drink Factory “Argentina,” part of the Beverage and Soft Drink Company, where its director, Joan Rafael Borges Remedio, explained the expansion of its summer production.

He highlighted the production of tomato puree, mango juice, sauce, vinegar, and “Fraile” rum. In addition to the traditional syrup that will be distributed throughout the municipality. “We are prepared to support the season with variety and quality, responding to the needs of the population,” he stated.

These actions are part of the comprehensive strategy under the slogan “Summer Forever Young,” which, starting July 5th, will combine a wide range of recreational and cultural activities with the strengthening of food availability. Thus ensuring an enjoyable season for all Holguin families.
