Yaima Cruz de la Cruz, head of this educational level in the General Directorate of Education in the territory, informed ACN that so far there are 21 institutions in this modality that promote the integral development of children from the working environment of the parents.

So far this year, six of these centers have been inaugurated, including the one of the Empresa Comercializadora y de Servicios de Productos Universales, in the provincial capital city, and the one belonging to the educational sector in Antilla, he said.

Cruz de la Cruz remarked that all the facilities favor more than 300 school children at an early age, a task that has been supported by sectors and entities such as the Domestic Commerce, Public Health and the Construction Material Company (Médano).

These capacities help to meet the demand for places in children’s day-care centers, an objective only reached by the municipalities of Báguanos, Banes, Frank País and Gibara, which joins the group with the opening of the Luces Martianas little house, located in the town of Uñas -Gibara municipality-, she pointed out.

Early childhood education in Holguín is developed in 65 children’s circles and more than 20 small houses, where around 10 thousand children are oriented and prepared to be useful members of society, with the collaboration of the community.
