The Clinical Surgical Hospital Lucía Íñiguez Landín of Holguín held a scientific conference in honor of Nursing Day, this May 12.
The event brought together prominent personalities in the field of health to discuss and exchange ideas on advances in health care and nursing excellence.
The event was highlighted by the presentation of several innovative and scientific papers that seek to improve the quality of care for patients in hospitals and in the community in general.
During the meeting, the participants were informed about interesting and topical research such as the protocol for nursing care in intensive care for patients with cerebrovascular disease, self-care practices for the prevention of biological accidents and health promotion and education in patients with retinitis pigmentosa.
The presentation of these papers provided valuable experiences to ensure that patients receive the best possible care and that nurses are ready to use the tools on nursing professional work.
The event also served as a platform to recognize the dedication and commitment of nurses in their daily work, because their role goes beyond administering medication and following medical instructions; they are caregivers, confidants and advocates for patients’ health.
As part of the celebration of Mother’s Day, this second Sunday of May, the event recognized the fundamental role that nurses play as maternal figures in the lives of patients. Their love, care and dedication in many ways reflect the essence of motherhood, creating bonds of trust and of motherhood, which endure over time.
It was an opportunity to celebrate the achievements made in the field and to inspire future generations to follow the path of excellence in nursing care.
