The naturist store Vivero de Luna, an enterprise in the province of Holguin, promotes the manufacture of natural cosmetics, as part of the actions to promote the use of medicinal plants.
Natasha Doimeadios Batista, a member of the project, told the Cuban News Agency that this self-employed alternative is made up of women from this eastern territory and has joined the local development projects for the past two years.
She pointed out that these cosmetics contribute to the relief of diseases such as psoriasis, scabies and hair loss, one of the most frequent sequels of Covid-19 in adults.
She also explained that among the products in greatest demand are hair serum, rosemary oil with olive or coconut and a wide range of soaps made up of various essential ingredients used for skin care.
The nursery also markets medicinal and ornamental plants and clay pots, and promotes production linkages with state-owned companies and new economic actors, which supply the raw materials used in the manufacture of these products.
Among its long-term goals is the creation of a research laboratory, which will expand the spectrum of plants used and promote new lines that improve the quality of life of patients with lesions, blemishes, sparse hair, associated with chronic diseases.
As part of the local development projects in Holguín, the sale of handicrafts, cultural options, historical routes, among other offers that add to the portfolio of opportunities of exportable items, are also promoted.
