The concert “Voces Líricas de Holguín” will be presented on January 17 at Basílica Menor del Convento de San Francisco de Asís in Havana.
According to a press release, the evening will showcase the virtuosity and qualities of the performers from the east of the country, who belong to several institutions such as the choir Orfeón Holguín, the local branch of the University of the Arts and the Rodrigo Prats Lyric Theater.
The cast includes soprano Isabel Torres, tenor José Gabriel Reyes, baritone David Gutiérrez and Carlos Manuel González, winner of the first prize in the male the first prize for male interpretation in the most recent National Festival of National Festival of Lyric Singing, organized by Uneac.
The program of the concert includes the special performance of the master and recognized baritone Alfredo Más López, coming from a generation of great voices that the city of Holguín has given, a school with a respected tradition and a very particular way of assuming the lyrical singing.
With the accompaniment of pianist and prestigious teacher from Havana Vilma Garriga, the interpreters will assume a rigorous repertoire marked by the variety of styles and composers of the universal opera, as well as emblematic pieces of the Cuban song, with emphasis on the work of Rodrigo Prats.
The concert Voces Líricas de Holguín (Holguin Lyrical Voices) will be dedicated to the memory of Maestro Jorge Luis Pacheco, who recently passed away, for his academic career, especially in the formation of new values of the Cuban of the Cuban Lyrical Art.
