This Thursday, teachers and support staff returned to work to ensure the return to classrooms in the province of Holguin next Monday, according to the Ministry of Education in the country.
The information, offered by Cuba’s Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz in his social network account X, clarified that the return to teaching activities corresponding to the 2023-2024 school year will take place next January 8, on the occasion of the celebrations for the 65th anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution.
Thus, the municipal directorates of Education, together with the provincial directorate, took the pertinent measures to, in addition to maintaining the care and protection of educational institutions, foresee the organization of the incorporation of schoolchildren to the internal centers.
Luis Felipe Batista Rodríguez, General Director of Education in Holguín, said that the municipal structures of the sector are instructed to take care of informing the changes in the entrance of these students in boarding schools, as well as the demand for school snacks and the preparation of the school staff for the return to classes.
In a special way, he emphasized, the children’s circles opened their doors this January 4, to receive their enrollments, since these educational institutions guarantee the continuity of the work activities of the rest of the sectors.

In the Second Ordinary Session of the National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament), in its 10th Legislature, he assured that, although it is not possible to raise the salaries of all employees in these sectors, the actions are related to raising their income, moral encouragement, and improvement of working and living conditions.
