The National Cuban Radio Festival, which has been held in Holguin since November 13, ended with the awarding of the major prizes by categories.
From the Pernik Hotel, venue of the event, Yusaima Cardona Villena, General Director of Cuban Radio, presented the awards. In addition, Natalia Riverón Díaz, Provincial Director of the Radio in Holguín, was awarded with the Radio Microphone for her excellence in the development of the festival.
The jury of the Special Themes category awarded its Grand Prize to the work “Siniestros en el super tanquero de Matanzas” by Yunielis Moliner Isasi, from Radio 26, Matanzas, while the Grand Prize in the Staged Programs Category went to the serial “Cenizas de la espera” by Yumaris Cruz Carballo from Radio Progreso.
Artemisa was selected as the next venue for this national festival because, according to Cardona, “it is a young province but consolidated in its radio production, as demonstrated by the results obtained in this event”.
Artemisa producers were awarded with the Grand Prize in the categories of: Journalistic Genres for the documentary “Angerona, the story of a paradise in ruins” by journalist Laura María Ortega Pérez of Radio Artemisa, while “Children and Technology” by Evelyn González Estrada of Radio Ariguanabo won in the Propaganda category.
Yusiván López Suárez, producer of Radio Artemisa, won the Grand Prize for Musical Programs with “Aquí está mi música” and the Grand Prize for Varied Programs with “Duendes del hogar”.
The Grand Prize for News Programs went to the citizen participation program “Alta Demanda, el impacto de las nuevas tecnologías y los jóvenes, ¿Conectados o desconectados? by Abel Falcón Curí, from CMHW radio station, Villa Clara, and Radio Rebelde was awarded the prize for Internet Productions.
On Thursday morning, the individual awards were presented in the eight categories, which granted 36 recognitions, in addition to 19 collateral awards from different international and local institutions.
This event was a necessary meeting between radio broadcasters from all over the country for the exchange of experiences, prestigious with the presence of 10 Cuban National Radio Awards and with doctors in communication, who presented important research.
Riverón expressed her gratitude for having chosen the province of Holguín to host the Festival, after 13 years without being held, and called on the participants to continue making a better radio every day.
