Social Communicators from Holguín province debated challenges ahead of their Congress, event held this Sunday, during which they proposed modifications to the statutes, the Code of Ethics, the election regulations and the process of admission to the organization that the delegation from Holguín will take to the VII Congress.
In the Assembly presided by Rosa María Pérez Gutiérrez; National President of the Cuban Association of Social Communicators, together with José Enrique Agüero Pérez, provincial president of the organization and guests, the delegates who will represent the territory of Holguín in the congress were elected.

The assembly also included elections to renew the board of directors, which ratified José Enrique Agüero Pérez as president together with Iraldo César Navarro as vice-president and integrated by other eight members, to carry out the work of the structure during the next period.
The management of the Association from 2017 to the current year, a stage marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, was evaluated. This analysis propitiated the debate to generate the proposals to be raised by the Holguin delegation to the national meeting, which will take place at a key moment for communication in the country.
The debate highlighted ideas such as the importance that institutions and the government take into account the value of communicators and communication, the need to increase the number of members, and achieve a better preparation of members so that there is a quality work with greater unity within the organization.
Not being satisfied despite the results achieved was another of the main ideas, since it is necessary to train and add communicators to the association and at the same time highlight the efforts of those already present, for whom there was a space of recognition within this meeting.

There were several recognitions, among them to a group of outstanding municipal presidents: Henni Espinoza and Yanara Serrano from the municipalities of Mayarí and Báguanos, respectively. At the same time, eight associates and 11 organizations that support, collaborate and have strategic alliances with the organization were honored.
The Cuban Association of Social Communicators (ACCS) arrives to its seventh Congress in an unbeatable context for communication after the recent approval of the Law of Social Communication, consolidating the functioning of the Institute of Information and Social Communication and the ratification of communication together with Science and Innovation and Computarization as the fundamental pillars for the government’s management.
