Mobile telephony secured on the Holguín-Guardalavaca highway

Mobile telephony goes to improvements thru the completion of the civil work of the Salida Cochico radio base, which stands out among the investments made by the Cuban Telecommunications Enterprise (Etecsa for its Spanish acronym) in Holguín province.

Located on the Holguín-Guardalavaca highway, such works point at improving the connectivity of mobile telephony.

This construction is part of a project, initiated in 2019, with the purpose of ensuring mobile telephony on that road that leads to one of the most representative sun and beach destinations in eastern Cuba, told to the ACN Sonia Solís Sarmiento, head of the center of this branch in the municipality of Rafael Freyre.

She explained that the program also includes the installation of another four of these devices in several stretches of the road, which connects the Frank País International Airport, in the provincial capital city, with Rafael Freyre municipality.

In the remaining sites

The works are divided in three stages, the conclusion of the civil work, the installation of the tower and the equipment of the radio base, in the points designated in the settlements of La Canela, Carlos Noris, Salida a Melones, to Salida Cochico and Lindero in the municipality of Holguín.

Specifically in the latter case, the directive added, the necessary equipment for its operation is already in the country and it is one of the actions planned in greeting to the provincial activities for July 26th, National Rebellion Day.

At the same time, Lindero de Holguín is already in operation, with the improvement of the coverage in the area, while in La Canela and Carlos Noris, the civil work is completed and the tower installed.

The company is also making investments in the towns of Vita, Melilla, Aguada de la Piedra and Santa Lucía for the incorporation of new customers in basic telephony and Nauta Hogar services, as well as to improve the coverage of mobile networks in those points, one of the main demands of users.

In Santa Lucía will have the incorporation of more customers to basic telephony and Nauta Hogar services, which will also contribute to improve the coverage of mobile networks in those areas.
