The “Moncada 2026” Strategic Exercise began within the territory of the Eastern Army. Aimed at enhancing the readiness of command and control bodies. The exercise is led by Division General Eugenio Armando Rabilero Aguilera, commander of this Army.
The maneuver is organize into two stages. The first, focuses on countering unconventional warfare. The second stage, will address preparations for responding to limited air strikes and dealing with downed aircrew. This structure aligns with the training plan for the command bodies of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR).
Moreover the “Moncada 2026” Exercise is conducted simultaneously across the country. With the goal of improving the readiness and cohesion of command and control bodies, troops, the territorial defense system, and the economy.
For the Eastern Army, the maneuver will conclude this Thursday with an evaluation of the results from both stages. Ahead of the National Defense Day, which will be on Friday, November 6th.
During the “Moncada 2026” Strategic Exercise, Joel Queipo Ruíz, president of the Provincial Defense Council in Holguin, outlined the actions carried out over these two days. With an emphasis on the strategic concept of the “War of the Entire People.”
Also the exercise is taking place across 14 municipal defense councils and 157 defense zones. These activities serve to strengthen the organization and preparedness of territorial defense structures.
Within the Holguin Military Region, the readiness of its forces to prevent and neutralize any aggression against the country was highlight. Combat readiness was also assessed, and forces and assets are prepared for situations involving risk, threats, and aggression within the context of unconventional warfare.
The Moncada 2026 Strategic Exercise pays tribute to the legacy of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro during the year of his centenary. The exercise strengthens the preparedness of the combatants of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the general public for the defense of the homeland.
