U.S. Records Nearly 55 Million Early Votes in Midterm Elections

As of this Monday, nearly 55 million people in the United States have cast early votes for midterm elections. Elections that point toward significant losses for President Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

“We all have to get out and vote,” Amanda Saunders, an African American resident of Washington and a Democratic voter, told Prensa Latina.

“If you ask me why I’m voting, the answer is simple: the prices at the supermarket and the inflation we’re experiencing right now feel like a silent depression for us.”

To change the current trajectory of the economy and the government, Saunders said. People must go out and vote. “I’ve already done it,” she emphasized.

According to statistics, early voting has reached record numbers this year. It surpasses the 46 million votes recorded ahead of the 2022 elections and reflects an increase in in-person participation.

The University of Florida’s Election Lab reported an uptick in pre-Election Day participation, with more than half of the ballots cast in person.

Of the total, more than 28,133,000 votes were cast at designated polling locations. While the remainder consisted of mail-in ballots returned to election authorities.

This surge comes during a contest that will determine the composition of the federal Congress and shape the second half of Trump’s term.

There is also a significant mobilization among Latino voters. A group that was crucial to Trump’s victory in November 2024. But is now shifting toward the Democratic side.

María Teresa Kumar, president of the organization Voto Latino, spoke about the scale of this participation during a virtual conference, as reported by local media.

“We aren’t just seeing a trickle.” “This is the tsunami that Voto Latino has been predicting. Latino voters are turning out to cast their ballots early because they know exactly what is at stake. This isn’t an abstract debate—it’s deeply personal,” she warned.

Polymarket—the world’s largest prediction market—indicates a 95 percent chance that the Democrats will win the House of Representatives. While giving the Republicans only a 6 percent chance of retaining control.

Projections also suggest that the Democrats could secure the Senate (72 percent) compared to 28 percent for the Republicans.

In these midterm elections, all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate are up for election. Additionally, 36 governors will be elected across as many states, as well as in three territories.

Furthermore, voters will decide on various other local and state-level officials this Tuesday.

Trump has now weighed in on the concept of a “golden age for the United States,” claiming that, under his leadership, it is just around the corner.

“INFLATION DROPPED SIGNIFICANTLY UNDER THE ‘TRUMP’ ADMINISTRATION! PERSONAL AND BUSINESS INCOMES ROSE SUBSTANTIALLY! A golden age for the United States is on the horizon,” he wrote on his platform, Truth Social, early Friday morning.

On November 3rd, nearly 250 million voters in the United States are set to determine the next majority in the Capitol. The results will be known soon.
