The Iberoart Ibero-American Handicraft Fair has officially opened its doors in Holguin. Reaffirming its status as a vital space for cultural convergence and community integration in eastern Cuba.

Organized by the local branch of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC). This edition brings together 57 exhibitors from Havana, Guantanamo, and the host province. Dedicating the event to paying special tribute to the artisanal traditions of Mexican culture.

The opening ceremony was attended by key provincial officials, including Yoel Queipo Ruíz, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba’s Provincial Committee in Holguin. Yaquelín Tapia, Provincial Director of Culture; and Manuel Hernández Ramos, Director General of the FCBC.

Also the event blended the elegance of local design with traditional music. Featuring a fashion show by the Fantasy Fashion Company—directed by Fernando Hernández. Showcasing pieces by Holguin-based designer María del Carmen Aguilera. As well as performances by baritone Edgar Torres, Liz Ponce de León, and the group Felling Voices. The artists moved the audience with national classics such as “Candil de nieve” by Raúl Torres.

Additionally, a special tribute was paid to architect Carmen Hernández in recognition of her unwavering commitment and contributions to the historical development of this craft fair.

With this opening, the Expo-Holguin Fairgrounds becomes the region’s epicenter for handicrafts and the visual arts. The public can visit the exhibition and sales areas until October 24th. Enjoying an event that celebrates identity, craftsmanship, and the cultural ties uniting the Ibero-American community.
