The town of San Rafael, in the municipality of Holguin, hosted the provincial commemoration of the 73rd anniversary of the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks. The event was attended by authorities from the Communist Party of Cuba, the government, mass organizations, and representatives of the community.
The commemoration served as a space for reaffirming historical significance and commitment to the continuation of the revolutionary work. The event was marked by recognition of workers, outstanding collectives, and young people. With significant achievements in the economic and social spheres of the region.
Prior to the commemoration, various social impact projects were carried out in the community. Aimed at improving basic services and local infrastructure. These included construction and rehabilitation work at health and education institutions. As well as community spaces, all of which contributed to raising the quality of life for the residents of San Rafael.
Moreover the ceremony commemorated the significance of the July 26th uprising as a symbol of resistance and national dignity. While reaffirming the commitment to advancing the main development programs of the municipality and the province.
For their outstanding work during the year, several institutions in the municipality of Holguin were recognized. Including the General Directorate of Education, ETECSA (the Cuban telecommunications company), the Banco de Crédito y Comercio (Bank of Credit and Commerce), the Directorate of Justice, the Directorate of Sports, the National Tax Administration Office (ONAT), and the cultural sector in the territory.
Several provincial institutions were also honored, including the University of Holguin, the Food Production Company, the Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), and Taxi Cuba, among others.
In addition, the municipalities of Moa, Rafael Freyre, Mayari, and Baguanos were recognized for their achievements. As the closing ceremony, the flag was presented. Officially designating Holguin as the host municipality for the provincial event.
