The best-selling Canadian artist of all time is preparing her return to the stage later this year. After not performing a full concert since before the 2020 pandemic.
Following a series of promotional posters that have appeared on the streets of Paris. Featuring the titles of some of her most iconic songs. Canadian superstar Celine Dion has officially confirmed her return. The 57-year-old singer plans to return to the stage later this year. Four years after being diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome (SPS).
According to the Quebec newspaper ‘La Presse’. Dion is preparing a residency with two concerts per week in September and October at the Paris La Défense Arena. The last time she headlined a concert was in Newark, New Jersey, on March 8th, 2020. Her Courage World Tour was cut short shortly afterward by the outbreak of the pandemic. She has not yet officially commented on this information.
In 2022, Céline Dion was diagnosed with SPS. A rare and incurable neurological disorder that severely affects mobility and the ability to sing. The following year, she canceled the remaining dates of her tour.
In a statement released at the time, she said, “I am working very hard to regain my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you are 100 percent.” Dion’s battle with the disease was documented in the 2024 film “I Am: Céline Dion.”
In 2024, she made a special appearance at the Grammy Awards. Also where she received a standing ovation. That same year, she returned to the big stage at the Paris Olympics. Performing Edith Piaf’s “Hymne à l’Amour” from the Eiffel Tower.
