Intermediate Technician Training in Anesthesia in Holguin

For the second consecutive academic year, the University of Medical Sciences of Holguin (UCMHo) is calling for interested young people to enroll in the Intermediate Technician Program in Anesthesia.

In response to the National Health System’s demand for increased human resources in hospital institutions. Particularly in services dedicated to specialized care for critically ill patients.

This new course, in close coordination with the General Directorate of Health (DGS), is designed for those between 18 and 35 years of age. With high school diplomas, intermediate technical degrees, or other equivalent qualifications.

According to Yamila Benítez Méndez, who works as a professor in the Admissions Department at the university, interested parties should apply to the aforementioned department at UCMHo.

The documents to be presented include a certificate of completion of studies. The diploma (original and copy), endorsed by the Ministry of Education (MINED). A passport-size photo (1×1) and an updated ID and health card.

Students must not be allergic to any medications, be physically and mentally fit, and, in the case of men, must present proof of military service, better known as Annex One.

Teaching will be provided at the Holguin Medical Sciences Branch and at the municipal branches of Banes, Mayari, and Moa. The awarding of positions will be based on seniority.

Those who opt for the Anesthesia Technician program must maintain a good social standing. As this job entails material responsibility associated with specific resources, she concluded.

Training for this career will take two years, full-time, and will be linked to hospitals. Since the previous academic year, a well-prepared and categorized faculty has been in place. The Holguin branch, with a plan for 45 approved positions, is also responsible for teaching in the municipalities of Gibara, Rafael Freyre, Baguanos, Calixto Garcia, Cacocum, and Urbanos Noris.

The Moa branch, with 15 positions, will serve students from the municipalities of Frank Pais and Sagua de Tanamo. Banes, with 15 positions, will serve students enrolled in the municipality of Antilla. Finally, Mayari, with the same number of positions, will enroll students from Cueto.
