The new functions of the ILC include:
– To register marriages formalized by notaries based in the ILC in question.
– To process and resolve cases of correction of errors or omissions. In the registrations made in each registry office.
– To issue the certifications related to the Civil Status of the persons within the term of 24 hours. Starting from it’s corresponding request to the registry office in charge or of any other country.
– To certify the legal capacity of persons to formalize marriages abroad and others authorized in the normative provisions related to the Civil Status.
Edier Humberto González Rojas, Civil Status Registrar of the ILC Holguin. Said that Cubans living abroad may hire these services through a lawyer. Either in person or online, in order to process and resolve cases of correction of errors or omissions in registrations.
As for the issuance of certifications related to the Civil Status. In the case of nationals living abroad. They can hire the service of a lawyer of the ILC Holguin in person or online. While Cubans living on the island can request them at the ILC Holguin through a technician in processing. Provided they are to be legalized in the Ministry of Justice (MINJUS in the Spanish acronym), Gonzalez said.
