The provincial board of the José Martí Cultural Society, SCJM, in Holguin started September with the analysis of the different lines of work for the next stage in which its priorities are the preservation and diffusion of the Apostle’s legacy to defend the national identity, as well as to continue the promotion of the values and principles promoted by the National Hero of Cuba.
Héctor Niles, who leads the organization that groups together goers of Jose Marti in Holguin, said that they analyzed issues related to the operation, the fulfillment of the activities planned in the period of June and August, fundamentally evaluating all the actions developed by the Martiano clubs in different educational and social institutions and in the community during the summer.
The working priorities for the next stage were presented, where the six working commissions, which were also created in this space, will play a fundamental role in the fulfillment of these priorities.
In a special way the SCJM organizes the provincial event “For the balance of the world” to be developed in October, within the Day for the Cuban Culture, and also prepares the activities to be developed within the Ibero-American Culture Festival, to be developed in Holguin from October 24 to 30.
Special recognition was given on the occasion to the work of the Martí Youth Movement in the province of Holguin during this stage, on the occasion of the presentation to the board of the young people who will participate in the National Seminar on Martí Studies, soon to be held in the city of Camagüey.
Through conferences, seminars, exhibitions and other cultural activities, the SCJM contributes to keep alive the memory of Martí and to foster a sense of national identity and belonging among Cuban citizens.
