CU.ORUM 2026: A Necessary Space for Social Communication

With the premise of transforming dialogue into transformative ideas. The first edition of CU.ORUM 2026. A meeting of directors and professionals in Social Communication, began in Bayamo. This is the most important scientific and professional event in Social Communication. Sponsored by the Association of Social Communicators (ACCS).

The multisectoral meeting brings together directors, specialists, researchers, journalists, and businesspeople. From the provinces of Santiago de Cuba, Holguin, Las Tunas, and the host province, Granma. Also who converge in an ideal setting for the exchange of academic and practical experiences.

With sponsorship from the Local Development Project (PDL) Gráfica Espiral Communications Agency. CU.ORUM stands until May 19th as an “Open-Door Coliseum” for the collective development of the sector.

Moreover the scientific conference comes at a crucial moment for the nation. Marked by the recent approval of Cuba’s first Social Communication Law. A legal milestone that regulates and legitimizes this activity during the revolutionary period.

Therefore, the agenda for this inaugural session prioritized highly sensitive and impactful themes for Cuban society and the economy. Focusing the analysis on the integration and regulation of advertising within the current national context. As well as on the design of effective crisis communication strategies and management manuals.

The delegates delved into the contemporary challenges of media and community communication. A debate that was harmoniously complemented by the sharing of best practices aimed at strengthening the organizational and business sectors in the country.

According to the organizing committee, Cuorum does not seek to be just another theoretical event. Rather a platform for immediate feedback among those who shape the country’s public voice.

Also the objective is clear: to equip professionals with comprehensive methodological tools to give Social Communication. The strategic place it rightfully—and legally—owns in today’s Cuba.
