A discussion was held at the Holguin Art Gallery. As part of the 27th edition of the Angel Visual Arts Salon. A space that brought together specialists and artists to discuss the province’s heritage and visual arts.
Historian Ángela Peña Obregón opened the dialogue with a presentation on Holguin’s heritage development. The Angel monument’s place within this context, referencing the book “Holguin: Capital for a Day.” Also co-authored with Martín Garrido, a scholar of the region’s arts. Her presentation sparked a debate among the attendees about the importance of heritage preservation and the need to establish guidelines for its protection.

The event also featured Onelio Escalona, the humorist and cartoonist to whom this edition is dedicated. Escalona shared his approach to the visual arts and reminisced about his beginnings in the province. Which has welcomed him with affection and recognition.

The discussion is part of the Salon’s activities. From April 8th to 10th, which has become a key space for reflection and promotion of the visual arts in Holguin.
