Authorities from the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) participated in the reopening of the Manuel Angulo Farrán Primary School. Located in the town of Melones, in the municipality of Rafael Freyre, Holguin province, following damage caused by Hurricane Melissa.
The ceremony was led by Major General Víctor Rojo Ramos, head of the Political Directorate of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR). Major General Eugenio Armando Rabilero Aguilera, head of the Eastern Army, and Joel Queipo Ruíz, first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in Holguin. Soldiers from the Holguin Military Region carried out the restoration work. Which included the complete repair of the building and the installation of new furniture to ensure suitable conditions for the teaching process.
At the event, students, teachers, and family members expressed their gratitude for the effort. In which will allow the children of the community to continue their studies in a renovated and safe school.
Moreover the school, severely damaged by Hurricane Melissa, was restored in a short period of time. Thanks to the joint work of the military institutions and local authorities.
Moreover this reopening reaffirmed the commitment of the FAR and the PCC to assisting communities affected by weather events. As well as to protecting education as a national priority.
Major General Rojo Ramos, accompanied by top commanders of the Eastern Army. Recently participated in a ceremony honoring and recognizing outstanding combatants and workers from the Holguin Operational Region. The ceremony highlighted the dedication and discipline of those who make crucial contributions to fulfilling the missions assigned in that territory.
