With the priority of safeguarding human lives, the Holguin municipality of Cacocum overcame the damage caused by Hurricane Melissa. An achievement for which it hosted the celebrations this Friday for the 67th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution. The provincial event commemorating this anniversary took place in Plaza 2 de Diciembre, located within the municipality. During the event, the performance of provincial indicators for the past year was evaluated. And commitments for the coming year were outlined.
Before a large gathering of residents of Holguin, Joel Queipo Ruiz, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC). He expressed his gratitude for the contributions of the people of Holguin to the province’s socioeconomic achievements. Including progress in implementing the Macroeconomic Stabilization Program and reducing the fiscal deficit.
With five municipalities showing a surplus, Holguin boosted local food production through the completion of spring and winter planting campaigns. The event highlighted the work of various entities and groups of workers who, in 2025, a year marked by the power outages and the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa.
