As part of the efforts to combat arboviruses, a massive fumigation campaign began this Saturday in the Holguin municipality of Moa. The campaign will cover both the interior and surrounding areas of homes within the health zone of the “Juan Manuel Páez” Polyclinic.
The health initiative, which will continue throughout the weekend, aims to reduce infestation rates of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. The main vector of dengue fever and other diseases.
Twenty fumigation units (sprayers) will be used for the operation. The operational plan includes fumigation of homes to treat more than 3,400 residences across 27 city blocks in the Miraflores-Atlántico People’s Council between Saturday and Sunday.
Spatial treatment with spraying will be carried out at dawn and dusk in designated areas. The campaign will be supported by workers from various entities and companies in the región.
