Fishing Company in Holguin Recovers Production Levels

The Concha Azul Fishing Company, located in the Holguin municipality of Rafael Freyre, is implementing capture and aquaculture processes. With the aim of recovering production capacity and expanding its industrial activity.

Yosvani Moreno Ochoa, director of Concha Azul, explained to the Cuban News Agency that the company’s main operations focus on oyster processing and offshore fishing. In three areas located in the municipalities of Banes, Rafael Freyre, and Gibara, where the vessels are based.

He added that the company focuses its crab fishing, with a significant area in Boca de Sama. Where the crab is sold both fresh and processed. The company also cultivates oysters in two farms located in the bays of Jururu and Naranjo.

The executive noted that they are maintaining export volumes of sea cucumber and elvers. Both recovering compared to previous periods, and that sales of these products are generating revenue for the country due to their high prices on the international market.
