Cachito S.R.L., a micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) in Cacocum, is contributing to communities affected by Hurricane Melissa in eastern Cuba by providing donations and support.
Through its “A Little Bit of Love” project and the Cacocum Business Network. An initiative of this entity dedicated to the production of dairy products, Cachito S.R.L. has provided breakfasts, lunches, and essential supplies to affected neighborhoods. Explained Jorge Leyva Batista, the company’s administrator, to the Cuban News Agency (ACN).
Severely flooded settlements such as Cayo Cedro, Altagracia, and Yaguabo have received direct assistance. Reinforcing the MSME’s commitment to the social fabric of the municipality.
Before and during the hurricane, Cachito S.R.L. provided immediate support to evacuation centers. With an emphasis on vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with diabetes.
To support the evacuees, the organization collected and delivered donations of clothing, shoes, ice cream, and food to these centers. Addressing the specific needs of each population group.
Since its founding, the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) has maintained continuous community work through its Project. With systematic actions in hard-to-reach communities such as ice cream deliveries, children’s activities, and support for vulnerable families.
Leyva Batista emphasized that for non-state management, it is essential to connect directly with the needs of the population. Also which strengthens public trust in the business sector and demonstrates that economic activity must be accompanied by social responsibility.
Currently, the organization extends its solidarity work to more than 20 communities in Holguin through the “A Little Bit of Love” Project. In collaboration with the municipal government.
