“Our priority is security and combating drugs,” the official added.

According to Bárcenas, the Joint Secure Border Plan is structured around five objectives with 41 actions. Based on the principle of zero tolerance for any presence of drugs or similar substances.

For his part, the Director of Defense, Security, and Protection of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR), Jorge Alberto Angulo, reaffirmed the essential role of prevention, response, and staff training in combating drugs within tourist facilities.

Angulo reiterated that Cuban tourist facilities have not been and will not be the scene of behavior associated with drug trafficking or its manifestations.
