With the goal of promoting literary creation and encouraging the participation of emerging writers. The Paprika project for literary creation and dissemination, the Manuel Dositeo Aguilera Cultural Center, and the Holguin Cultural Department are announcing the third edition of the Literary Short Story Contest.
In this new edition, in which the theme is open, contestants can participate in two categories: open and literary workshop. In the open category, Cuban writers residing in the country, under the age of 36. Whose work remains unpublished and who have not won first prize in previous editions of the contest, will have the opportunity to participate.
In the literary workshop category, all writers regardless of age may submit entries. Provided they are members of a Literary Workshop belonging to the network of Cultural Centers throughout the country.
Texts entered into the competition must be unpublished. With a maximum length of one page, and authors may only submit one story.
Entries must be submitted in a single document via WhatsApp to 54674216, with the text: 3rd National Short Story Contest, before December 15th, 2025. The document must specify the title of the entry, author’s name, ID number, home address, phone number, and a brief literary resume, if available.
