Under the motto “To Innovate is to Grow,” the National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers (ANIR) in Holguin held its 3rd Provincial Conference. To evaluate its work and define strategies to strengthen its contribution to the economic and social development of the region.
The meeting brought together 75 delegates from various sectors and was attended by Joel Queipo Ruíz, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the province. Along with Lidier Águila Machado, National President of ANIR, and Manuel Francisco Hernández Aguilera, Provincial Governor.
Following the presentation of the central report, which analyzed the achievements and challenges of the period. A debate took place where participants identified progress and outlined actions to strengthen the link between science and production. In order to generate practical solutions for companies and strategic sectors.

In this regard, Vladimir Rodríguez Ochoa, a Science, Technology, and Innovation specialist at the Comandante Pedro Soto Alba Joint Venture. Shared successful cases where innovative projects optimized processes, reduced costs, and improved product quality. He also highlighted the role of ANIR as a platform for promoting the ideas of Holguin professionals.
Another relevant moment was the presentation by Dr. Alma Torres Gómez de Cádiz, who promotes the use of sago. A traditional Cuban crop, to make nutritional supplements, an alternative for children with celiac disease or gluten allergies.
During the plenary session, the delegates who will represent Holguin at the next ANIR National Conference were elected, and the new provincial bureau was established. Chaired again by Niurka Acosta Ramírez, who in her words of thanks reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening the innovative movement as a driver of economic and social development.

The assembly concluded with recognition of outstanding organizations and workers in innovative activity over the last five years. Reaffirming that innovation is key to growth.
