The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC), Miguel Díaz-Canel, announced today the celebration of the X Plenary of this body and the call for the 9th Congress of the political organization.
In the message released on X, the also President of the Caribbean nation informed that the plenary of the CC-PCC will take place on July 4th and 5th, and in its sessions they will analyze the Government Program to correct distortions and relaunch the economy. As well as the plan for the stabilization of the National Electric System.
They will also evaluate the cadre policy strategy, approved at the 8th Congress, and the proposal for the commemorative program for the centenary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
As part of the agenda of the X Plenary, the Political Bureau will report on its work and the main decisions made during this period, a method deemed essential in current times, the source stated.
In this context, presumably, the date for the summit event of the communist membership would be announced, the last meeting of which was in April 2021. According to data from the organization, the First Congress took place in 1975 in this capital, 10 years after the founding of the PCC.
