Codanza company returns to Holguin stages

With the world premiere of “Feelings. Odyssey of the Mind”. In collaboration with the Austrian choreographer Mike Loewenrosen. The Codanza company returns to the Holguin stages on April 25, 26 and 27.

Vianki González Miranda, director of the group, explained to CNA that the work is a representation of various emotional levels. Achieved through images where the dancers show the different worlds and affections. Structured in solos, pas de deux, pas de trois and as a whole.

The feelings are not explained through a kind of story. But are shown by the dancers. In this way, the audience is not distracted and can become aware of their own emotions, she said.

The choreographer also highlighted the existence of modern musical compositions within the piece. Which will transport the respective images to the present. Also complete a fresh work, which will offer the audience a new experience through of a contemporary dance language. That due to the subject matter, has no limits.

Mike Loewenrosen, also a director and writer. Told CNA that the dance style that the work will show is born from a mixture between the neoclassical and the contemporary. In the search to bring feelings such as love, trust and hate to the stage with their own language.

He highlighted the high level of preparation of the company’s dancers. Who, despite their youth, have a technique and way of getting involved in the piece. Achieved with a lot of dedication and discipline.

Vianki González highlighted the importance and opportunity of bringing to Holguin a choreographer like Loewenrosen. Who has excelled in teaching and dancing in theaters in North and South America. The Caribbean and Europe, to create and show the versatility of contemporary dance in Cuba.

The Codanza company, considered one of the best in the country, was founded in September 1992. Since then has won numerous awards for the best in the country. Moreover presented on various stages in Cuba and the world. As well as collaborated with writers and personalities of international relevance.
