Ingeco creates ties with the educational sector in Holguin

The Engineering Works Construction Company (Ingeco in the Spanish acronym) number 17 of Holguin strengthens ties with the educational sector in order to strengthen the applicability of science in the sphere, promote the improvement of professionals and the recruitment of new workforce.

As part of the priorities that respond to the 2030 agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, the entity established work systems with educational institutions in the territory, which allowed the creation of projects to optimize their work, Arturo Santiesteban Reyes, director of the entity, told ACN.

From these ties, they are currently executing, together with the University of Holguin and Cubasolar, an innovation program aimed at transforming the energy matrix in the production of asphalt mixtures, which will contribute to the advancement of the national strategy that promotes the use of clean energies, he explained.

The feasibility of these agreements is supported by the fulfillment of the postgraduate improvement plan, which will contribute to the solution of problems in an innovative way and the appropriate use of technological advances in the country’s constructions, he said.

Likewise, the director commented that the ECOI-17 is a center of labor practices for the careers of Civil and Industrial Engineering and Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, where the movement of Construction Masters and other workers act as instructors in the training of the students.

This has allowed the incorporation of a new trained workforce into the sector, including operators for dissimilar equipment such as pavers, cylinders and bulldozers, influenced by vocational guidance at different levels of education.

In this regard, he added that they promoted approaches to the Alberto Sosa, Oscar Ortiz and José Martí basic secondary schools in the main municipality, where they develop circles of interest and conferences that extend the role of the builder in Cuban society and awaken their professional concerns.

Therefore recipient of awards, among which the National Vanguard status stands out, Ingeco of Holguin has participated in the materialization of multiple works internationally in South Africa and Saint Lucia, in addition to standing out for its performance in the production and commercialization of asphalt concrete.
