Socioeconomic programs are checked in Cacocum

Headed by Manuel Francisco Hernández Aguilera, Governor of Holguín, a control visit was carried out this week to the municipality of Cacocum with the objective of evaluating the state of fulfillment of the local socioeconomic programs and the commitments adopted by the different entities to reach the headquarters by July 26th next year.

During the meeting, the functioning of the Board of Directors was assessed and it was noted that there is no positive transformation in the working systems, as well as a lack of cohesion between the government’s plans to boost the economy and the commitments made.

According to the report presented, one of the most relevant issues was the bankarization, which must continue in a sustained manner in the territory. In this regard, the Governor of the province emphasized the importance of promoting the development of this process from all sectors.

It also transpired that the points of sale of agricultural products in Cacocum do not use any of the payment gateways available for electronic commerce.

The government executives also analyzed the agricultural indicators, having as results that the sugar cane sowing is at 48%.

Likewise, the state of the crops does not correspond to the current cold season, and the cassava, sweet potato and yam programs are not being complied with.

On the other hand, the issue of housing was of notable importance, and it was observed that the program is at 56% compliance, below the provincial average.

Other deficiencies pointed out were related to the contracting of milk, the work of the energy council and the management of the main leaders in terms of following up on commitments and working projects.
