For its prominent results in innovation, especially in the health, industry and electro-energy and mining-metallurgical sectors, among others, Holguin will host the national event for the Innovator’s Day, which is celebrated every October 8.
According to Niurka Acosta Martínez, provincial president of the National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers (ANIR), this selection is the result of a national emulation that covered from the last semester of 2023 to the first semester of 2024, where Holguín stood out in various indicators, always showing the resilience of its Anir members in the arrangement of machinery and equipment of all kinds, as well as in the proposal of solutions for production and services.
She pointed out that the Frank País García International Airport will host the event, as a provincial recognition of the efficiency with which the airport facilities are maintained despite the economic limitations faced by the country.
During the celebration, she said, several October 8th Decorations will be awarded, the highest award granted by Anir, as well as the October 8th Condition, which recognizes both individual and team innovations.
The ephemeris of Innovator’s Day will be an opportunity to honor the work of the nearly 14 thousand Anir members from Holguin, who daily face shortages of fuel, raw materials and other inputs, but still seek solutions to ensure the continuity of essential processes and services in various areas.
With several works recognized in forums and other national events, the Anir members from Holguin have achieved so far this year an economic effect of about five million pesos.
