Holguin graduates health professionals from different medical fields

At the campus Comandante Arides Estevez Sanchez of the University of Medical Sciences of Holguin, this July 19 took place the graduation ceremony of 94 health professionals, belonging to the Technical Professional Education, Higher Education in different specialties and the Basic Nursing Technician Course.

According to Dr. Rosell Damian Dorrego Anzardo, director of the Holguin Branch, “the graduation of this promotion is a special day for the graduates and their families, we graduated 34 graduates in the specialties of Stemmatological Care, Pharmaceutical Service and Surveillance and Antivectorial Combat; 28 professionals of Higher Education in the fields of Optometry and Optics, Hygiene and Epidemiology and Health Rehabilitation and 32 students of the Basic Nursing Course”.

On the occasion were recognized those graduates who, due to their relevant results in the academic sphere, deserved a Suma Cum Laude Degree. They were Yaritza Hermidas Ochoa, from the Bachelor’s Degree in Optometry and Optics; Lisandra Sánchez Saladrigas, from the Bachelor’s Degree in Hygiene and Epidemiology and Yarianny Santana Barrera, from the Bachelor’s Degree in Health Rehabilitation.

Likewise, the best graduates of the Technical Professional Education, of the regular course, were the Stomatological Care Technician, Dayana Silva Almira, for her participation in knowledge contests, in vocational training activities and active participation in the Federation of High School Students (FEEM).

From the Technical Professional Education course by the meeting course, the outstanding student was Mayeleisis Guisado Garcés of Pharmaceutical Services Technician, who showed an outstanding attitude towards study and work, with one hundred percent attendance and punctuality and active participation in theoretical and practical classes.

In Higher Education, in the Encounter Course modality, Yaritza Hermida Ochoa, a graduate in Optometry and Optics, was the best graduate for her talent both in the classroom and in the practical area and her participation in research activities, which places her as a reference for her colleagues.

Finally, Yurislieidi Hernández Rodríguez was recognized as the best Basic Nursing Technician. She is an outstanding student in teaching and practice, with impactful research work in the Nursing Journey and currently serves as a member of the UJC Committee at the Vladimir Ilich Lenin Hospital, the institution where she is trained.

Dr. Galina Galcerán Chacón, rector of the university, and other leaders of the health sector in the territory were present at the graduation ceremony of the new professionals who joined the health system in the territory.
