This weekend nearly 600 young people from different sectors of society, organized in 34 brigades, took part in a huge volunteer working day, which was extended throughout the province of Holguin, as a contribution to food production.
The brigade from the municipality of Holguín, named after Luis de Feria Garayalde, in honor of the local General who participated in the three wars for Cuba’s independence from Spanish colonial rule in the 19th century.
With the presence of Diosmany Cruz Morales, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Osmani Viñal García, first secretary of the PCC in the municipality of Holguín, and Elisbel Durán Borroto, secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Young Communist League (UJC), young girl Yiset Gonzalez spoke on behalf of the members of the brigade of the production brigade.
The youth production brigades seek to promote the active participation and commitment of young people to the development of their community through the food production, a number one task in the nation.
It is important to highlight that these activities will be carried out every weekend, which demonstrates the commitment and dedication of these young people to the tasks of the tasks of the UJC.
